As I mentioned, leaving Koh Chang was very difficult. I was frustrated, knowing I had to leave, and as I'm want to do, got anxious. I thought, "Well, if i have to leave here I hope to hell I can get to Chaing Main over night...Tonight!"

The bus from Trat to Bangkok was loud and uneventful, and I raced to the Bangkok train terminal to try and catch an overnight, second class sleeper to Chaing Mai that night. The odds were against me, but Fortuna was on my side and I shocked the railway assistant who assured me there were no sleepers left by scoring one for 2 hours hence.

Chaing Mai is known as a small, yet more managable version of Bangkok with abundant shopping. For me it's also known as "that place I wound up in that wasn't Koh Chang."

I had fun though driving a scooter around, saw some more Mauy Thai and went...s-h-o-p-p-i-n-g. Your gifts should be arriving any day.

Those last shots are of a cool bar I found while killing some time before Mauy Thai.
